Instructional Design

This instructional design project features a technology-enhanced English Language module created for Grade 6 learners. It was developed to build students’ foundational skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking while fostering engagement, creativity, and critical thinking.

Structured with a blend of multimedia content, self-paced lessons, and performance-based assessments, the module provides students with a rich, interactive experience that adapts to their learning pace and interests. Activities include storytelling, guided reading, writing prompts, group discussions, and audio feedback to support different learning styles.

AECT Standards:

  • 1.3: Demonstrates effective use of instructional strategies and representations.

  • 2.2: Applies design models in developing instruction.

  • 3.2: Uses resources effectively to manage instructional design projects.

Instructional Design Approach

Using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate), I structured the course to reflect both learners needs and curriculum goals.
Key features include:

  • Clear objectives for each lesson
  • Interactive tasks using multimedia and formative feedback
  • Built-in assessments for reflection and mastery
  • Scaffolded instruction for inclusive participation
    •

All lessons are aligned with national language learning standards and created with student accessibility in mind.

Final Reflection

This project allowed me to blend creativity, pedagogy, and technology in a way that speaks directly to learners’ needs. It reinforced my belief that language learning can be joyful, inclusive, and digitally engaging when designed with intention. As an educator, I continue to look for ways to bring stories, voices, and ideas alive through thoughtful instructional design.
